Datchet

There hasn't been too much to write about recently, I've spent most of the time I had on boat work in the last few weeks shifting ballast. We got another 10 tons of scrap steel bar and old railway chairs to help get Misterton a bit lower in the water (helps with the handling), but its just hard work, so not much to see.

We did go for our longest trip ever (just me and Mary, plus baby as 'passenger') to Datchet in order to empty the waste tank. This trip involved going through a couple of locks each way so we got some practice in. Here we are, moored opposite the back gardens of Windsor Castle, didn't see the queen or any corgis though.

It was a lovely day for a trip, hopefully we can get a few more in before the river gets too fast over the winter. Here is Mary steering, the baby was quite quiet while we were travelling, probably the noise of the engine making it sleep. Will be using that trick when it arrives I think.

Next time - the last of the ballast and then maybe some other developments.

Hi Mary and SImon, I have been thinking of you. Mary you look ABSOLUTELY AMAZING in this pic. It looks like things are going great and GROWING. How many more weeks do you have? Things are good with us. Just finished a very exhausting day with the boys, especially Willem! I don't mean to scare you! Your baby will be perfect in every way :-) How is the job going? Please send me an email. I'd love to hear how things are. We miss London terribly, even though we are happy to be back.

Lov,

Christina
